How to set up RCON on an Ark server

Ark: Survival Evolved servers come with a preestablished RCON (Remote Connection) port and settings; however, the function is typically not available to Ark. Note RCON requires an Admin Password, and can only be utilized through third-party tools.


How to Set Up RCON on an Ark Server

1. Log in to the BisectHosting Games panel.

2. Choose Config Files > Ark User Settings from the left sidebar.


3. Navigate to the RCONEnabled line and ensure it is set to True. Additionally, copy the RCONPort and note it down somewhere.


4. If any changes were made, choose Save Content. Then Stop and Start the server.



5. Go to the Ark RCON Admin site and download the latest version.


6. Extract the file into an empty folder and launch ara.exe.


7. Once open, press Right-click > New Server.


8. Enter the Server IP under Host, the copied RCON-Port, and enter an easily identifiable name.


Note Fill in the Server Password field with the currently set Admin Password.


9. Once set up, Double-click the server to connect via RCON.
