How to install a modpack on the CurseForge launcher(Legacy)



Summary 

CurseForge is a popular tool for installing mods and addons onto games like Minecraft. The CurseForge Launcher has modpacks available for selection, in addition to allowing users to freely add new mods or delete them from packs. Users can also use the tool to browse for mods available or install addons onto other existing games.

Note After installing a modpack the CurseForge launcher, you will need to change the minimum RAM to begin playing. Use the "How to increase minimum RAM requirements on the CurseForge launcher" tutorial.

Note To download the CurseForge app, you must install the Overwolf app first. Use the following tutorial to download it on your desktop:


How to Install the CurseForge/Overwolf Launcher
1.
Download the Overwolf launcher installer
here.

2.Double-click the installer and go through the installation steps.


3. Once the Overwolf is open, click on the search icon. Search for "CurseForge".


4. Click on the CurseForge app then Install.


5. CurseForge is now installed on your desktop.


How to Install a Modpack on the CurseForge Launcher
1.
Launch the CurseForge application on your Desktop.

2. Under Choose a Game, click Minecraft.


3. Click Browse Modpacks.


4. On the desired Modpack, click Install.


5. 
Once installed, click Play to launch modpack. 


How to Increase Minimum RAM Requirements on the CurseForge Launcher
1.
Launch the CurseForge application on your Desktop.

2. Click the Settings icon on the bottom left-hand corner.


3. Under Game Specific, select Minecraft


4. Scroll down to Allocated Memory. Using the slider, increase/decrease the MB's of RAM to the desired amount.
       Note: Most modpack take a minimum of 4-8GB's (4000-8000MB's) of RAM to run efficiently.


5. There's no need to save. Simply close the panel to save memory settings.
