How to find the new villager in Stardew Valley 1.6


Summary
Stardew Valley, a popular farming game, features a tranquil world where players cultivate farms, interact with villagers, and explore Pelican Town. The 1.6 patch introduces a new quest revolving around a large tree that transforms into the Giant Stump after a mighty windstorm. This event triggers "The Giant Stump" questline, where players assist a raccoon and his family make it their home. By completing tasks, players welcome a new villager to the community.

How to Find the New Villager in Stardew Valley 1.6
1. Wait for the Windstorm event.
After the player builds the greenhouse, there is a 10% chance for it to happen after the player goes to sleep. It might not occur right away.


2. Visit Marnie's Ranch and head left.
There will be a giant tree stump to interact with, which starts the Giant Stump quest.


3. Collect 100 Hardwood.
Hardwood is obtained by chopping a Mahogany Tree with any axe, a Large Stump with a Copper Axe or better, or a Large Log with a Steel Axe or better.


4. Return to the tree stump and repair it.


5. The following day, Raccoon, the new villager, will appear and provide bundles to complete, similar to the community bundles.


Stardew Valley Raccoon Quests Guide
1. Complete the first request.

Reward: One bag of 25 Carrot, Summer Squash, Broccoli, or Powdermelon Seeds, depending on the current season.

2. After 7 days, the Raccoon wife will appear and set up shop. The second request will be available to complete.

Reward: Raccoon Journal


3. After 7 days, a Raccoon child will appear. The third request will be available to complete.

Reward: Raccoon Hat


4. After 7 days, another Raccoon child will appear. The fourth request will be available to complete.

Reward: 5 Fairy Dust


5. After 7 days, another Raccoon child will appear. The fifth request will be available to complete.

Reward: Jungle Tank

6. After 7 days, the last Raccoon child will appear.


Previous rewards can be bought from the Raccoon wife.


The Raccoon will now offer repeatable quests for random rewards.
