Quality Assurance Engineer

As a QA Engineer at BisectHosting, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance testing protocols to ensure our web applications meet the highest quality standards before deployment. You will collaborate closely with software engineers and developers to identify and resolve issues, focusing on testing automation, performance, and scalability. You will also enforce standardized QA practices across the department.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain automated and manual testing procedures for web applications.
- Collaborate with software developers to ensure system requirements and functional specifications are met.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and system issues using appropriate tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Lead the enforcement of QA best practices across the engineering department.
- Provide feedback to improve the design and architecture of software solutions.
- Report on test coverage, performance issues, and overall quality of releases.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in software quality assurance and engineering.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, TestRail).
- Ability to design, write, and execute test scripts (manual and automated).
- Familiarity with web technologies (e.g., JavaScript, Vue.js) and backend frameworks (e.g., Laravel, PHP) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Experience working in a fast-paced development environment with tight deadlines.
Optional Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Formal degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
- Experience in API testing and familiarity with tools like Postman.
