V Rising Grethel the Glassblower Boss Guide: Location, Fight Tips, & Loot Table

Posted on by justin
Grethel the Glassblower is one of V Rising's powerful bosses that players must defeat for some important progression, as defeating her unlocks various crafting recipes, including Glass, an ingredient to upgrade the Castle Heart to Level 3, and also gives a Tier 1 spell point.. So, without further ado, here’s our boss guide for Grethel the Glassblower in V Rising.

Who is Grethel the Glassblower in V Rising?

V Rising Grethel the Glassblower As her name implies, Grethel the Glassblower takes pride in her craft. This Level 50 V Blood Carrier blows beauty into her products, producing masterfully-created glass creations. However, her glassblowing style is both precise and daring. Combining these qualities with her attacks makes her a formidable foe, especially for wandering vampires.

Grethel the Glassblower Location

V Rising Grethel the Glassblower Location V Rising vampires can find Grethel the Glassblower in the Quartz Quarry at the Dunley Farmlands. She doesn’t move around the area, unlike other V Blood bosses. Although not particularly difficult, the location in which Grethel resides is surrounded by militia. So, players should consider preparing crowd-controlling abilities, particularly if the nearby soldiers flood in.

Grethel Attacks and Fight Strategies

V Rising Grethel Attacks Players can generally find and attempt to fight Grethel the Glassblower during the game’s middle stages, and this V Blood Carrier has fewer attacks and abilities than most end-game bosses, especially the Lord of Darkness himself, Dracula. So, here are Grethel’s attacks to help you prepare for this battle:
  • Shock Discs: Grethel’s primary attack, wherein she shoots three discs imbued with Storm magic to the player's location.
  • Divebomb: Grethel jumps into the air and crashes into the player’s location for moderate damage.
  • Lava Rainfall: Grethel rains lava from the skies. This attack only appears when the boss’ health is relatively low.
  • Icicle Shield: Grethel summons an icy shield, protecting her and summoning icicles if hit.
Note that it’s ideal to defeat the militia in the Quartz Quarry before engaging Grethel. That way, you won’t deal with these mercenaries while fighting her. Additionally, if you're struggling with the fight, considering adjusting to some of the game's stronger weapons with fairly fast attack speeds, such as slashers or twin pistols. Although you can deal massive damage to her using gear like the Reaper or Greatsword, you might be wide open when Grethel evades your attack while using these slow weapons.

Grethel Loot Table & Rewards

V Rising Grethel Rewards Defeating Grethel the Glassblower in V Rising gives victorious vampires a Tier 1 Spell Point. Using this Spell Point allows you to unlock one of three Tier 1 spells in the Storm Magic School, which are the following:
  • Cyclone: Conjure a cyclone that pierces enemies, dealing 90% magic damage and inflicting Static. The cyclone returns once it reaches max distance, circling back towards you and lingering for up to 8s, hitting any enemy it passes through.
  • Ball Lightning: Launch a Ball Lightning that lingers in place, periodically shocking a nearby enemy and inflicting Static. Deals up to 180% magic damage per target over 3s. Ball Lightning's total damage cannot exceed 450% magic damage. Explodes after the duration, dealing 50% magic damage in the area.
  • Discharge: Block melee and projectile attacks for up to 1.5s. Blocking an attack pulls the target towards you and grants one Storm Shield. Enemies triggering Discharge in close vicinity are stunned for 0.6s. Storm Shields circle around you, dealing 20% magic damage and inflicting Static. Effect stacks up to 3 times.
Note: Players can also gain a Tier 1 Spell Point by defeating the Level 50 V Blood Carrier Meredith the Bright Archer in the Haunted Iron Mine at the Dunley Farmlands or the Level 60 V Blood Carrier Ziva the Engineer in the Trancendum Machine Factory at Gloomrot South. Aside from the Tier 1 Spell Point, defeating Grethel the Glassblower also unlocks specific crafting recipes, which are the following:
  • Wall Hanging Mirrors: 2x Glass
  • Glass: 20x Quartz
  • Blood Rose Potion: 48x Blood Rose and 1x Empty Glass Bottle
