Vomit Sickness is a debilitating debuff in The Isle, turning the afflicted dinosaur’s path to survival into a desperate scramble to stay alive. As with other survival strategies, it’s ideal to understand how this illness works and how to deal with it properly. So, keep reading to learn more about vomit sickness in The Isle and how to cure it.

What is Vomit Sickness

The Isle Vomit Sickness As its name implies, Vomit Sickness in The Isle is an ailment and debuff caused by eating rotten food or bones. Most dinosaurs, except the Deinosuchus and Ceratosaurus, can't handle the consumption of rotten food, leading to illness. Rotten food in The Isle generally consists of the decayed remains of a dead creature. Over time, the carcass begins to rot, which is identifiable by the deterioration of visual features, particularly the skin. Additionally, flies begin swarming around the lifeless body. A carcass can rot even more when left alone over time. Corpses with significant rotting are discernible when the scent compass indicates a bone with rotting flesh. Leaving the corpse will reduce it to bones, and eating these “leftovers” still results in the dinosaur contracting Vomit Sickness. Also, eating bones damages the consumer’s health. Once afflicted with Vomit Sickness, the ill dinosaur in The Isle has its water, hunger, and stamina capped. These values, along with the dino’s nutrient buffs, decrease over time.

How to Deal With Vomit Sickness in The Isle

The Isle Vomit Sickness Cure Typically, a dinosaur in The Isle with Vomit Sickness must hide and seek shelter immediately. Engaging in combat with this debuff will generally result in an early death. Once hidden and resting, the ailment should take about 5 minutes to disappear. However, the ill dino frequently throws up while the debuff is active, leaving it vulnerable should an enemy appear. Players who are lucky enough to find a salt lick or be near one can lick it to help remove the sickness as well. Tip: If you're looking for an "ethical" quick fix, use console commands to restore hunger and thirst after Vomit Sickness reduces these values.
