Terraria Mechdusa Boss Guide: How To Summon, World Seed, Loot, and Tips & Tricks
Posted on by justin
If you've ever had a nightmare about the three mechanical bosses of Terraria forming together as one, wake up, because it's time to meet Mechdusa. This optional Hardmode boss isn’t in Terraria’s normally-generated maps, as you can only fight it in seeded worlds. So, how can you beat Mechdusa in Terraria? Continue reading, as we take a deep dive into this very challenging boss fight only for the strong-hearted adventurers.
How to Summon Mechdusa in Terraria
First, to summon Mechusa in Terraria you must play in a seeded world. Otherwise, it’s impossible to summon this boss in any other world without mods. Generate this secret world seed by typing “get fixed boi” or “getfixedboi” in the Seed field in the world generation window. Note: The text to generate these seeds is case-sensitive. While in the "get fixed boi" world, you can summon Mechdusa similarly to when you want to fight the game’s mechanical bosses. In particular, you can destroy a Crimson or Demon Altar at night, which has a 5% chance of summoning Mechdusa. If successful, the message, “What a horrible night to have a curse,” will appear on the lower left portion of the screen. Alternatively, you can use the Ocram’s Razor at night to summon this boss without destroying altars. Note: The text that appears is a direct reference to Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. Crafting the Ocram’s Razor uses the following items near a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil:- Mechanical Eye
- Mechanical Skull
- Mechanical Worm
How To Beat Mechdusa (Attacks and Tips & Tricks)
Since this boss is a fusion of the three mechanical bosses, Skeletron Prime, The Destroyer, and The Twins, it has the attacks of each of them. Each part also has its separate health bar and reflects the behavior of its vanilla counterpart. Since this boss has all the attacks of the mechanical bosses, dodging is the name of the game for this boss fight. You can craft a lengthy surface to run on while shooting this boss with a high-damaging ranged or magic weapon. Alternatively, you can equip wings and circle around the boss while hitting it with your preferred armament. However, if you choose this option, prepare yourself to fly continuously throughout this fight. With a size of 111 NPCs, you’ll be weaving a lot to escape its barrage of attacks.Attacks
Here’s a quick rundown of Mechdusa’s attacks:- Skeletron Prime lashes out with arm swipes/slashes
- The Destroyer shoots lasers
- The Twins fire lasers and fireballs
Loot
- Waffle’s Iron
- All Treasure Bags from the three mechanical bosses
