Stardew Valley Emily Gift Guide: Loves, Likes, Hates, and Heart Events
Posted on by justin
Emily is one of the NPCs in Pelican Town that almost instantly warms up to you when you move into Stardew Valley. She’ll invite you to stop by the saloon where she works during your first meeting. But you can turn that friendly gesture into a blossoming relationship by giving her gifts. Here in this Stardew Valley Emily gift guide, we'll cover all of her favorite gifts and connected Heart Events as you grow your relationship level.
Emily: The Eccentric Optimist
Emily lives with her sister Haley at 2 Willow Lane. She’s also one of the NPCs that’s reasonably easy to find, even when you’re not consulting her schedule. You can frequently find her at The Stardrop Saloon, where she works. Talking to Emily is like a breath of fresh air. She’ll sometimes check up on you and give you farming advice, like sheering sheep wool and transforming it into clothing. But not everyone can like her hobbies, as she’s into crystals and the unseen. Still, her passion for crystals, spirits, and magic can give hints about the best gift items that Emily enjoys in Stardew Valley.Preferred Gifts
Crystals, clothing materials, and items related to nature are Emily’s preferred gift items in Stardew Valley. Note that you can only give her up to two gifts per week, with an additional instance on her birthday in Spring 27. Plus, you’ll know if she likes or hates her gift through her reactions.- Love: “This gift is fabulous! Thank you so much!”
- Like: “Thank you! I'm feeling a positive energy from this gift.”
- Neutral: “Thanks!”
- Dislike: “Sorry, (player name). I don't like this.”

Heart Events
As you give each new gift to Emily in Stardew Valley, you’ll level up your relationship and gain access to her Heart Events. These instances trigger when her friendship level has two, three, four, six, seven, eight, and ten hearts. There’s also a 14-heart Heart Event, but you must marry Emily before triggering it. Note: Emily’s friendly personality allows you to receive gifts from her through the mail. The frequency of receiving these presents increase with her friendship level.Two-Heart Event
Enter Emily’s house when she’s there. You’ll find her asleep in her room, but you’ll also view her dream. She’ll soon wake up and then tell you that there’s something special about you.Three-Heart Event
Among the gifts sent by Emily through the mail, you should get a Salad recipe from her upon reaching a three-heart friendship level. The dish requires 1x Leek, 1x Dandelion, and 1x Vinegar. It also recovers 113 health and 50 energy upon consumption.Four-Heart Events
Enter Pelican Town on any sunny day, as long as it’s not winter. A scene should trigger wherein you’ll see Emily leave her house. Then, you’ll see a parrot smack at the window of her home. Emily will then care for the poor animal and nurse it back to health. Note: Marrying Emily will also make the parrot move into your farmhouse.Six-Heart Event
Go to Emily’s house when she’s there. You’ll find her full of excitement as she shows you her secret hobby. She’ll then dance in front of you, then asks you about your opinion of her performance. Note that your answer can affect your relationship with her.- +25 friendship: “That was amazing!”
- -50 friendship: “That was embarrassing….”
- +25 friendship: (Say nothing and do a slow clap)
Seven-Heart Event
You’ll receive another present from Emily in the mail. This time, it’s a recipe for the Red Plate dish. Preparing it requires 1x Red Cabbage and 1x Radish. Consuming the cooked dish restores 240 health and 108 energy and increases your maximum energy by 50 for 3 minutes and 30 seconds.Eight-Heart Event
This event will trigger when you receive a letter inviting you to the Mayor’s Manor. Go to that location when it’s open, and you’ll see Emily and other NPCs in the house. Let Emily’s “Clothing Therapy” session continue until the scene ends.Ten-Heart Event
You’ll receive another letter from Emily, but she’s inviting you to meet her at the Secret Woods after 10 pm this time. Here, you’ll join Emily as you camp in the woods. But a bear appears and surprises the both of you. You and Emily then share a sleeping bag, seeing that her extra bag is still outside the tent. Again, let the scene play out until it ends. Note: You must have the Steel Axe to destroy the large log at the entrance of the Secret Woods. If you don’t have this tool yet, you can still trigger the event when you go to that location at the appointed time on any day after receiving the letter.Get Started with a
