One of the NPCs you can marry in Stardew Valley is Elliot. He’s passionate about his writing career and dreams big, often being found on The Beach. But you can uncover more about his life goals by befriending him. So, continue reading this Stardew Valley Elliott gift guide to know the right presents to give this budding writer.
Elliott: The Romantic Writer
Elliott’s beachside residence makes him fond of certain seafood dishes. Unlike other NPCs like Abigail and Leah, you can’t go wrong with giving fish to Elliott unless it’s Sea Cucumber. Besides receiving seafood, Elliott’s passion for writing makes him a sentimental romantic. Despite his eccentric personality, he’s reasonably easy to get along with. For instance, he was pretty friendly during your first meeting, especially since he invited you to his home at The Beach. But you can only enter his cabin after achieving a two-heart friendship level with him.Preferred Gifts
In Stardew Valley, you can give Elliott a gift twice per week. But you can also give a present to him for a third time on his birthday in Fall 5. Usually, you can find Elliott in his house, working on his novel. So, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find this NPC when you want to give him a gift.- Love: “(Player name), this is a beautiful gift! Thank you!”
- Like: “This is for me? Marvelous!”
- Neutral: “Oh, a present! Thank you!”
- Dislike: “Hmm... I'm not a huge fan of this.”
- Hate: “This item gives me a terrible feeling. I'll have to dispose of it.”

Enter Elliott’s beachside cabin when he’s there. Here, he’ll explain the reason why he moved into Pelican Town. Soon, he’ll ask you what novels you like. Answer any on-screen options, as each choice will increase your friendship level with him by 30.Four-Heart Event
Go to the Stardrop Saloon anytime between 3 pm and 10 pm and when Gus is there. Upon entering the establishment, Gus will take your order momentarily. But not before Elliott walks into the saloon. As the scene plays out, Elliott will soon propose a toast. Then, choose one of the four on-screen options that appear. Note that the following selections can affect Elliott’s friendship level:- +25 friendship: "To Pelican Town!" (+25 friendship.)
- +50 friendship: "To our friendship!"
- -10 friendship: "To my good health!"
- -50 friendship: "To your doom!"
Six-Heart Events
Return to Elliott’s cabin, and you’ll see him playing the piano. The scene will prompt with various selectable options. Select any of these choices since answering them won’t affect Elliott’s friendship level.Eight-Heart Event
This Heart Event will trigger once you receive Elliott’s invitation to visit the museum. Go to that establishment between 1 pm and 7 pm any day after receiving the letter. Enter the museum, and a scene will begin. Elliott will then read from the novel he wrote recently. Note that the genre of the story he made depends on your answer from the two-star Heart Event.Ten-Heart Event
Head to the beach any day between 7 am and 1 pm, as long as it’s not raining. You can also wait for a letter to trigger this Heart Event, but you won’t need to wait for the message to activate the scene. Once you reach the beach, you’ll join Elliott by the docks. He then asks if you want to travel with him on a “maiden voyage.” Accept, and the scene continues. Elliott will kiss your character suddenly, and your chosen response can affect his friendship level.- +50 friendship: “I’m happy.”
- -50 friendship: “You’re making me very uncomfortable. Stop.”
