Below, take a deep dive into each faction in Squad.Australian Defence Force
Before it became an official DLC in update 2.15, the only way to play as part of the Australian Defence Force in Squad was through a mod. This faction is the in-game variant of the real-world military organization comprising the Australian government’s army, navy, and air force. It’s important to mention that many of the roles in this particular faction come equipped with the EF88 Bullpup as standard. It’s an excellent assault rifle with fairly stable handling for accurate shooting. The Australian Army in Squad also has optics for their small firearms, increasing accuracy when using these weapons in specific shooting scenarios. However, the advantages of playing in the Australian Defence Force are typically fewer when compared to other factions. Canadian Army
Squad released the Canadian Army as a playable free DLC faction in the Alpha 15.3 update. It’s the first faction in Squad to have a Sniper kit in the Specialist category. Additionally, this military group has a reasonably large range of long-range scopes. But players should be aware that Canada’s vehicles aren’t up to par as compared to other factions. In particular, its main tank, the Leopard 2, generally has a mediocre performance and may require more skill to pilot than the tanks in other factions. Nonetheless, the Canadian Army’s list of available vehicles has more options than other groups, especially when compared to the Australian Defence Force and British Army.Roles & Equipment

Introduced in update 4.0, the People’s Liberation Army is the main armed military group of the People’s Republic of China. Following the People’s Liberation Army in 4.0, Squad introduced this military group’s Navy Marine Corps in update 5.0. Since it immediately follows its predecessor, the People’s Liberation Army Navy Marine Corps is Squad’s 11th playable and ninth conventional in-game military faction. This army typically excels in lightweight combat. Its infantry is equipped with assault rifles, carbines, and pistols, instead of sniper rifles and other fairly heavy firearms. Being the second conventional military faction in Squad, the Russian Ground Forces is a competent army that can deliver devastating damage to those that oppose its ranks. Its infantry uses carbines and assault rifles that can decimate groups in seconds, especially when these firearms are in the right hands. But it’s still important to mention that most Russian Ground Forces’ equipment doesn’t have digital rangefinders, which may be an issue for some players. This unconventional army’s weapons aren’t concentrated into a few types. Players can use assault rifles, carbines, submachine guns, light machine guns, and pistols. Although this gear combination means these “irregulars” won’t be good when its infantry is spread thin, it can be great for focused shock attacks. Additionally, the Irregular Militia Forces have some of the best lightweight vehicles in the game.
