Space Engineers Hydrogen Tank Guide: Capacity, Stats, How to Use, & More
Posted on by justin
Are you building a ship in Space Engineers with Hydrogen Thrusters? If so, you must also use a Hydrogen Tank. Keep reading to learn more about the Hydrogen Tank in Space Engineers, particularly its stats, usage, and more.
What is the Hydrogen Tank in Space Engineers
As its name implies, the Hydrogen Tank in Space Engineers is a functional block with the primary functions of storing and distributing Hydrogen. Note that it typically works with Hydrogen Thrusters. Alternatively, players can use the stored gas in the Hydrogen Tank to refill a Hydrogen Bottle.Hydrogen Tank Stats

How to Fill and Use
Connect an O2/H2 generator to a Hydrogen Tank to fill that container. Remember to use ice as fuel for this setup. Note that you can fill or empty a Hydrogen Tank in the Control Panel Screen. You should enable Stockpile on the tank to pull Hydrogen from the connected O2/H2 Generator for the action to work. On the other hand, you can disable this mode to allow the Hydrogen Thruster to use the stockpiled hydrogen. Keep an eye on the status lights on the assembly to check your hydrogen reserves. The colors you should be watching for are the following:- Black: Empty or below 25%
- Red: No connected power source or assembly is off
- Blue: Accepting hydrogen or assembly isn’t providing if Stockpile is on
- Green: Providing hydrogen to connected blocks, like Hydrogen Thrusters, if Stockpile is off
