Satisfactory 1.0: How to Deal with Nuclear Waste

Posted on by justin
Also called Uranium Waste, Nuclear Waste in Satisfactory is a radioactive byproduct from burning Uranium Fuel Rods in Nuclear Power Plants. Unfortunately, this item can pile up quickly and can increase radiation risks within and around your factories. So, keep reading as we give you solutions on how to deal with this byproduct effectively.

How to Deal with Nuclear Waste in Satisfactory 1.0

Satisfactory Nuclear Waste Thankfully, various methods exist to help you deal with Nuclear Waste in Satisfactory. Some effective techniques include the following:

Crafting

Nuclear Waste can be an ingredient in some crafting recipes in Satisfactory, which are the following:
  • Non-fissile Uranium: 15x UraniumWaste, 10x Silica, 6x Nitric Acid, and 6x Sulfuric Acid
  • Plutonium Pellet: 100x Non-fissile Uranium and 25x Uranium Waste
  • Fertile Uranium: 5x Uranium, 5x Uranium Waste, 3x Nitric Acid, and 5x Sulfuric Acid

Reprocessing

Remember, Pioneers can’t delete or destroy Nuclear Waste in Satisfactory. However, you can reprocess it into Plutonium Fuel Rods. Complete this task by sinking the Plutonium Fuel Rods and converting the waste. However, the storage area becomes more radioactive than before, as the generated Plutonium Waste is more radioactive than Uranium Waste.

Storing

Pioneers who wish to store the Nuclear Waste should do so by sending the byproduct to a remote location. Remember, Uranium Waste is highly radioactive, and the radiation can spread up to a 400-meter radius.

Using Hyper Tubes

The Hyper Tube is generally a transportation device, allowing a Pioneer to travel over long distances. However, you can also use it to deal with Nuclear Waste in Satisfactory. This technique requires you to drop the waste from your inventory while traveling through the tube. Note that this method doesn’t delete the thrown item. Instead, it becomes stuck in limbo and will remain airborne. Although this reduces and perhaps even prevents radiation risks, the thrown Uranium Waste can pile up, causing the game to lag over time, particularly when done repeatedly.

Taking Advantage of the Respawn Mechanic

Another technique to deal with and get rid of Uranium Waste in Satisfactory is by launching yourself in multiple Hyper Tubes. First, create about 23 Hyper Tubes connected to a Mk.5 Conveyor Feed. Ensure that the Hyper Tube connection is at a 45-degree angle. Next, remove all items in your inventory and equip a Hazmat Suit. Then, carry a reasonable amount of filters. Fill the remaining inventory space with Uranium Waste stacks. Once prepared, launch yourself in the Hyper Tube cannon. If done correctly, it should launch you to the edge of the map, killing your Pioneer for being out of bounds. Despite your character dying, the Uranium Waste in your inventory also disappears. Repeat this method as many times as you want.

Killing Lizard Doggos

The Lizard Doggo is a tamable creature in Satisfactory. A Pioneer can tame it using Paleberries. Once domesticated, feed it a full stack of Uranium Waste. Then, kill the creature, which also deletes its inventory. Editing the Save File Alternatively, you can edit your save file to remove the Nuclear Waste in your Satisfactory game. It’s important to mention that you should create a backup of your save file before proceeding with this method. Note that the default location of Satisfactory save files is at the following path: %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames. Once found, upload your save file to the SCIM Save Editor. Then, modify your inventory and other aspects of the file to your liking. Download the file when you’re finished, and save it in the directory mentioned earlier. Launch the game afterward to check if you’ve successfully dealt with the Nuclear Waste.
