Satisfactory 1.0 Update: Release Date, Time, Content, Trailer, & More
Posted on by justin
Coffee Stain Studios recently announced that their first-person open-world factory building title, Satisfactory, will soon leave Early Access. But when is its release date and release time, and what are the new features it brings to the table? We'll answer those concerns as we dive deep into what we currently know about Satisfactory 1.0.
Satisfactory 1.0 Release Date & Time
According to an official announcement, the Satisfactory 1.0 release date and time will be September 10th at 5:00 PM CEST, as per an official announcement. This launch is five years after its early access period began on March 19, 2019. During this time, the game has improved in leaps and bounds, and more improvements are coming in its launch patch.New & Improved Content in Satisfactory 1.0
First, players must start a new save file to take advantage of the new content and features. Some players might not be fans of this piece of information. However, note that Satisfactory 1.0 brings a ton of new changes to the game, which may ruin the integrity of legacy save files. Additionally, story triggers are attached to milestones, and fully-equipped factories may not get the best experience without the update.Story Introduction
Satisfactory didn’t have a narrative upon its Early Access release. However, that changes with the game’s full release, as Satisfactory will now have a storyline. This tale also has an ending, which players can work for instead of having the ultimate goal of building the best factory.World Updates
Planet MASSAGE-2(A-B)b brings significant changes to the world map’s resource nodes when Satisfactory 1.0 launches. This update offers new possibilities for conveyor belt designs, allowing players to “spaghetti” their networks to new horizons. It's also important to mention that Caterium, Sulfur, and Quartz nodes will spread out throughout the map for a more balanced distribution. Additionally, Iron, Copper, Limestone, and Water Geysers will become more scattered throughout the map, boosting the generation of these basic resources.Recipe Updates
Satisfactory 1.0 also brings exciting updates to recipes! Gone are the days of steep transitions between phases and tiers. Soon, recipes have reduced costs, providing smoother progression through the game. For instance, players should be able to breeze through tier 5 and 6 recipes without needing Heavy Modular Frames and Computers. Additionally, manufacturing Heavy Modular Frames will be easier, requiring fewer Encased Industrial Beams. Also, Computers will shed their reliance on Screws, streamlining their development to three materials. Programmable Splitters will also embrace AI Limiters, and Geothermal Generators can soon use Highspeed Connectors. Several alterations to recipes using Beacons also come with Update 1.0, since this major patch removes the Beacon from its item library. The Hard Drive Library
Players searching hard drives for alternate recipes will see a new tab called the Hard Drive Library. Here, players will notice that they no longer need to select a reward from the drive to start researching another one. Additionally, each drive will include one reroll, allowing players to change the reward for two new options. Players can also stack multiple rewards, eliminating duplicates.Research Updates
Several MAM Research Trees also receive updates when Satisfactory 1.0 is released. For instance, Supercomputers will no longer be part of the Caterium MAM Tree. Additionally, Gas Masks will become unlockable through the Mycelia MAM Tree instead of being a Tier 5 recipe.Generator Updates
Concerns regarding power generation should be fewer with the release of Satisfactory 1.0. In particular, Biomass Burners now have inputs for Conveyor Belts for optimal efficiency in automating planetary deforestation. Also, Fuel Generators will soon have their power output significantly increased from 150MWh to 250MWh. This change results in an approximate 67% improvement for connected assembly lines and powered infrastructures. However, this rise in power production also means increased material consumption.Milestone Relocation and Rebalancing
Satisfactory 1.0 also introduces a new Phase 5, with new milestones in the new Tier 9. Although information about this particular detail is scarce at the moment, players should expect new recipes and buildable structures as rewards for completing these tasks. Also, the requirements for completing Phase 4 will be reduced. With Update 1.0, completing Phase 4 will require 500x Assembly Directory System, 500x Magnetic Field Generator, 250x Thermal Propulsion Rocket, and 100x Nuclear Pasta. The Satisfactory 1.0 Update also includes various changes to different equipment. For instance, the Gas Mask will be available in the M.A.M. unlocks under the Mycelium Tree instead of it being locked behind Tier 5. Additionally, the truck milestone will be moved to Logistics Mk. 4, allowing the Fuel Generator to transfer to a unique milestone.Other Additions and Optimizations
Aside from the updates and changes made to some of the game’s content and features, Satisfactory Update 1.0 adds optimizations throughout the board. Some of these improvements include the following:- Efforts have been made to optimize the game to create a stable and consistent gaming experience, which includes reduced stuttering and memory requirements.
- Added support for Unreal Engine 5.3.
- Foliage no longer has hitboxes that collide with vehicles, saving computational effort and RAM usage.
- Computations for belts and pipes will be clustered, improving performance for large factories.
- Save, load, and runtimes are reduced thanks to many buildables being changed to Lightweight Actors.
- Various UI and model changes
- New items and buildables, which may include fences, beams, and pipes
- Automated biomass production lines
