Merry Rustmas! The Rust Christmas Event 2024 is on its way and aims to coat the map with snow, gingerbread, and guns just like last year's. However, there are even more goodies and surprises this time. So, keep reading to learn what to expect from this year’s Rust holiday event! When is the Rust Christmas Event 2024
This year, the Rust Christmas event will run from December 12 to January 2. When the event starts, official game servers will be updated to include all of the Christmas-themed content. For community servers, the dates can be shifted around based on personal preference. What is in the Rust Christmas Event 2024
For starters, some features from last year will be returning for the 2024 Rust Christmas Event. For instance, players can find Santa hats and reindeer antlers. Additionally, hang a stocking in your base and wait for the sound of jingling bells. Then, check the stocking to receive surprises. Speaking of jingling bells, you can also hear the sound of Santa’s sleigh every once in a while. If you do, search the immediate area to find and open two gift-wrapped presents. Don't worry, these presents remain in the area for up to 30 minutes, so you should have plenty of time to find them. Bash these presents open to receive Christmas gifts. You can even combine gifts in order to create larger ones with greater rewards! Rust players can also craft an Advent Calendar using 100x Wood and 20x Cloth at a Level 1 Workbench. Placing this interactive furniture in your camp or base will give you an in-game surprise. However, you can only claim one present per real-life day from December 16. Perhaps the most terrifying addition during the Christmas Event, is the return of last year's Gingerbread Men. Seemingly sweet gingerbread houses have spawned around Rust’s map. But don’t take a bite out of these homes without preparation, or it might be your last. Enter these homes and proceed inside to explore the Gingerbread Cake Mines. But beware, exploring these dungeons isn’t a piece of cake.Christmas Craftables
It wouldn't be Rust without crafting, so the Christmas Event brings plenty of Christmas craftables for you to use in and around your base of operations. Here's a list of what you can expect to create:- Christmas Tree: Spruce up your dwelling with a seasonal spruce of your own!
- Ice Walls: Walls made of scrap are for the summer. Now's the time to fortify your defenses with a frosty exterior!
- Candy Cane Club: Thwacking a foe has never been so delicious. Of course, you can also eat this club for calories, hydration, and even some healing!
- Pookie Bear: A cute and fluffy friend to bring a more cozy atmosphere to your Rust world.
- Snowball: Good for throwing, yes, but also the ammo you'll use in a Snowball Gun.
- Snowball Gun: Throwing snowballs isn't enough! With the Snowball Gun, you'll be able to pelt your friends and enemies with a flurry of frosty projectiles.
- Tree Decorations: It isn't Christmas if you dont' decorate the tree you're own way. You can make lights, ornaments, a star, and more!
Christmas Sack
Throughout the Christmas Event, Burlap Sacks will be getting a more festive appearance. They now resemble a more Santa-like sack with red coloring and a cute string to tie them up.Monument Decorations
Areas such as the Fishing Village and Bandit Camp will have decked halls during the Christmas Event. These areas might not be where you set up your own base, but it's nice to see the world of Rust joining in on the seasonal spirit!Christmas-Themed Store Items
