How to Unlock Chef in Risk of Rain 2

Chef is a new unlockable survivor in the Seekers of the Storm DLC of Risk of Rain 2. Originally part of Risk of Rain, this new playable character brandishes its cleavers to easily slice (and dice) monsters. So, continue reading to learn how to unlock this master of the culinary and cutting arts in Risk of Rain 2.

How to Unlock Chef in Risk of Rain 2 Seekers of the Storm

The first step is to install the Seekers of the Storm expansion. Next, you’ll need the following items to unlock Chef in Risk of Rain 2:

• Bison Steak
• Cautious Slug
• Infusion

The Bison Steak and Cautious Slug are relatively common items found throughout the different locations in Risk of Rain 2, especially in the first and second stages. As for Infusion, you can get this item by destroying certain items in specific areas. The items to destroy and their locations are the following:

• Explosive pots in the Abandoned Aqueduct
• Fusion Cells in the Rallypoint Delta
• Alloy Vulture Nests in the Siren’s Call
• Flying Rocks in the Sky Meadow
• Birds in the Distant Roost

After collecting the items, complete the first stage as you’d normally do. However, don’t enter the portal at the end of the stage. Instead, interact with the new Halcyon Shrine before it. Praying to the Halcyon Shrine lets it consume about $200. Then, defeat the golden mini-boss that appears. Once defeated, enter the new green portal that appears. This place is the Reformed Altar, and Chef’s Cave is slightly to the left of the main structure at the center of the region. Enter the cave and place the Bison Steak, Cautious Slug, and Infusion in their rightful recesses.
