How to Unlock Artifacts in Risk of Rain 2

Risk of Rain 2 Unlock Artifacts The process to unlock artifacts in Risk of Rain 2 is relatively straightforward. However, players must first reach the Sky Meadow, which is always the fifth stage of every run. Once in the Sky Meadow, look for a large, circular opening in the ground. This location isn’t far from the stage’s starting point. Once found, jump into it to find a 3x3 grid with a laptop in front of it. It’s in this place where you can unlock artifacts in Risk of Rain 2. Assuming you know the code for the artifact you want to unlock, input the combination of shapes on the 3x3 grid. Then, interact with the laptop to trigger a portal at the teleporter near the grid. Enter the portal to begin a fight with the Artifact Reliquary. Defeat this special boss to successfully unlock your preferred artifact.

How to Defeat the Artifact Reliquary

Defeating the Artifact Reliquary doesn't require players to simply deplete their health using regular attacks and abilities. Instead, you must defeat the monsters that spawn in the area to get Artifact Keys. "Feed" an Artifact Key to the Artifact Reliquary to reduce its health by 25%. So, you must use four Artifact Keys to defeat this boss. It’s also important to mention that the effect of your chosen artifact will be active during this fight. So, here are the artifacts in Risk of Rain 2 and their corresponding effects:
  • Artifact of Chaos: Friendly fire is enabled for survivors and monsters alike.
  • Artifact of Command: Choose your items.
  • Artifact of Death: When one player dies, everyone dies. Enable only if you want to truly put your teamwork and individual skills to the ultimate test.
  • Artifact of Delusion: Risk your items after completing the Teleporter event in a test of memory to gain more items.
  • Artifact of Devotion: Replace broken drones with Lemurian Eggs. Give an item to hatch and gain a follower. All Lemurian followers receive item effect.
  • Artifact of Dissonance: Monsters can appear outside their usual environments.
  • Artifact of Enigma: Spawn with a random equipment that changes every time it's activated.
  • Artifact of Evolution: Monsters gain items between stages.
  • Artifact of Frailty: Fall damage is doubled and lethal.
  • Artifact of Glass: Allies deal 500% damage, but have 10% health.
  • Artifact of Honor: Enemies can only spawn as elites.
  • Artifact of Kin: Monsters will be of only one type per stage.
  • Artifact of Metamorphosis: Players always spawn as random survivors.
  • Artifact of Sacrifice: Monsters drop items on death, but Chests no longer spawn.
  • Artifact of Soul: Wisps emerge from defeated monsters.
  • Artifact of Spite: Enemies drop multiple exploding bombs on death.
  • Artifact of Swarms: Monster spawns become doubled, and monster maximum health halves.
  • Artifact of Vengeance: Your relentless doppelganger will invade every 10 minutes.
