Minecraft XP farms come in many shapes and sizes, but
how are they made, and what are the options? Today, we answer that and more while exploring five of the most popular Minecraft XP farm designs, including those that provide level 30 in a few minutes’ time.
Monster Spawner XP Farm Guide
Zombie & Skeleton Mob Spawner XP Farm
The first design by Voltrox uses a zombie or skeleton spawner found in a
monster room and relies mostly on mining, making it a very quick setup. Water brings the mobs from the spawn up a tunnel before dropping them a specific height to deal damage, allowing those at its end to harvest the mobs in one strike.
The rarest block required is one soul sand, with all the others being common overworld materials. This leaves the hardest part finding the spawner.
Overworld Mob XP Farm
For those who would prefer a variety of loot with their XP, then this overworld mob XP farm may be just what you need! A dark open space at the top of a tower fills with
naturally spawning mobs and pushes them to the center where they fall so you can slay them for their loot and XP. The only downside compared to the first design is that it takes a little longer to set up, but nothing more than common overworld materials are needed for it to be completed.
Silverfish XP Farm
This next design by BasicRedstone offers one of the fastest ways to gain level 30 through allays and potions of infestation. The potions of infestation give those under the effect a chance to spawn silverfish each time they take damage and
allays passively heal fast enough to survive drowning. This makes a drowning allay a near-infinite producer of silverfish when under the effects of an infestation potion.
Sadly, the trade-off for this farm being extraordinarily fast is the need to have both an allay and a consistent supply of potions of infestation. That may seem annoying, but the amount of XP makes it more than worth it.
Nether XP Farm
In the nether, gold and XP go hand in hand, and with this design by Triloms, one will never need either again! It is as simple as
digging a hole in the nether where zombie piglins will gather and fall upon being attacked, but with a bit of added stone and hoppers for safety and gold collection.
Those seeking the simplest and fastest setup or just an abundance of gold will find this XP farm the most rewarding to have.
Enderman XP Farm
This final Minecraft XP farm design by DashPum4 makes use of enderman spawn mechanics in the end and doubles as a way to farm ender pearls. The bulk of the build is notably made of leaves as enderman can not spawn on them, and unlike other enderman farms that use an
endermite, this one functions based on sight, saving a ton of time and resources.
