When an eerie creaking fills the air, be wary of what lurks near. Today, we examine the heart of a monster that has the skills of a master puppeteer in our Minecraft creaking heart guide.
Creaking Heart Overview
Creaking hearts are a block that generates within the pale oak trees of a pale garden biome. They glow an eerie orange at night and look like partially stripped logs in the daylight. However, their greatest strength is that they are almost never directly within sight. Hidden in leaves or in between logs, they wait patiently for their chance to strike, using a mob that only appears in the darkness of night. The Creaking
The creaking is a hostile mob created by a creaking heart nearby. They are immune to nearly all damage and attack only when out of sight, but for all their strength, they can’t move when on-screen and are also the weakness of creaking hearts. Upon hitting the creaking, a line of particles will appear, showing where the creaking heart hides. Additionally, resin will generate on the pale oak logs surrounding the creaking heart each time the creaking is struck, providing a secondary visual that makes their home tree easier to spot.Defeating a Creaking Heart
Once the location of a Minecraft creaking heart is known, it can be chopped from the tree with an axe, burned as a whole, or captured using an axe enchanted with silk touch. All three options will destroy the creaking it controls, but the third comes with the added bonus of being able to bring the creaking heart home.Crafting a Creaking Heart
By placing pale oak logs above and below a block of resin on the crafting table, a creaking heart can be made. Creaking hearts created in this way act the same as any gathered with silk touch, remaining dormant until they are placed vertically between two pale oak logs. Once done, the creaking heart will become active at night, spawning a creaking once more. The creaking will be hostile, much like before, so be warned! They make for entertaining guards and are a great source of resin, but remember, the creaking can never travel further than 32 blocks from the heart it protects.Resin
When a creaking is struck, resin generates on the pale oak logs surrounding the creaking heart. This makes creaking behind fences or bars a free source of resin on a five-second cooldown. Resin can be used to craft resin blocks or smelted in a furnace to create resin bricks, which in turn make resin brick blocks, a chiseled variant, stairs, slabs, and walls.Get Started with a
