Killing Floor 3 will coat this year with blood as players are set to return to this dystopian future and rid its genetically engineered undead inhabitants known as Zeds. This highly-anticipated next installment to the zombie shooter builds on the intense, wave-based gameplay of its predecessors and then cranks it up to the next level. So, keep reading as we tell you what we currently know about this next iteration of this popular zombie survival FPS.

Killing Floor 3: Everything We Know So Far

Killing Floor 3 Killing Floor 3 hopes to introduce enhanced visuals, dynamic environments, and new enemy variants. Additionally, players can expect new content and features, such as a revamped class system that deepens strategic teamwork. Set years after the events of Killing Floor 2, the story follows elite mercenaries combating a global outbreak orchestrated by the rogue biotech corporation Horzine, with a focus on frantic combat, gruesome dismemberment mechanics, and an arsenal of brutal weapons. The game promises expanded multiplayer modes, cross-platform play, and a haunting atmosphere. Get ready to experience a bloody good time as you encounter visuals that blend sci-fi and horror, aiming to deliver a visceral, adrenaline-fueled experience for both veterans and newcomers.

Killing Floor 3 Delay & Release Date

On January 31, Tripwire Interactive published a video that introduced a new type of Zed – the Siren. That video also announced that the Killing Floor 3 release date would be March 25, 2025. Additionally, the video also mentioned a closed beta test, which will ran from February 20 to 24. Unfortunately, the beta wasn't received very well by players. There was an enormous amount of complaints with the game's UI/UX, performance, gun feel, difficulty, and much more. As a result of all the negative feedback, Tripwire Interactive decided to delay Killing Floor 3's release date to an undecided date later in 2025. While we don't have any other news on when the game will possibly be released, the developers have promised to deliver a more polished version of Killing Floor 3 when it's ready.

Available Platforms (Will It Offer Crossplay?)

Killing Floor 3 is set to be a multi-platform post-apocalyptic co-op FPS. Players will soon have their fill of destroying Zeds left and right on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. Additionally, the game will have cross-play support, allowing you to play with your mates regardless of the platform they’re using. Note that PC players must use a system that can play this game efficiently. With that, the minimum and recommended system requirements for a PC to run Killing Floor 3 are the following:

Gameplay Overview

As with Killing Floor 2, this next installment can cater to up to six players in a co-op instance. Nonetheless, various notable changes are visible from the trailer shown in The 2024 Game Awards. For instance, a fully integrated mod system will be available, allowing players to personalize their methods in (re)killing Zeds. Additionally, this latest installment has more dynamic enemies than its predecessors. Players must think faster on their feet and make critical decisions on the fly to ensure their survival. Thankfully, you and your squad will be able to take advantage of environmental traps, increasing your kill count. Another trailer, this time from Gamescom, showcased additional features. Some notable examples include the following:
  • Three new playable Nightfall specialists
  • New Zeds, including the Siren and Impaler
  • Additional movement for returning Zeds (e.g., the Crawler climbing on ceilings and walls)
