Enchanting is one of the strongest features Minecraft has to offer, yet the required setup can be quite unclear. So, today, we explore how to set up a level 30 enchanting table in Minecraft, complete with every step needed to get there.
How to Set Up a Level 30 Enchanting Table in Minecraft
Step 1: Required Materials
A level 30 enchanting setup requires two diamonds, four obsidian, 138 sugar cane, 46 leather, and 90 plank blocks of any kind. Below, we have detailed where each item can be found. Diamonds Diamonds generate on layer 15 and lower of the overworld, growing more common as one goes down further. If a diamond pickaxe has not already been acquired, we would recommend mining three extra diamonds to craft one. Obsidian Obsidian can be obtained by dumping water on lava or finding a ruined portal. However, both instances will require a diamond pickaxe to mine the obsidian. One can alternatively search the chests of village weaponsmiths or the chests surrounding ruined portals for a chance at finding some. Sugar Cane Sugar cane is a naturally generating plant block that can appear next to rivers, lakes, and oceans in any biome. They are not rare and can typically be found quite quickly with a waterside journey. Once collected, simply place the sugar cane next to a water source in an active area to create a sugar cane farm and expand the farm each time the sugar cane grows. Leather Leather drops from horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, hoglins, mooshrooms, and cows. One can also craft four rabbit hides into a single leather. Creating a cow farm and breeding the cows is the best way to acquire leather and an abundance of food quickly. Planks Gathering 90 wooden planks may seem daunting, but they equate to only 23 logs. With an iron pickaxe and a forest of any size, the job should not take long.Step 2: Crafting Books
Once the materials have been gathered, the next step is crafting 46 books. This will first require the sugar cane to be divided into three stacks and placed on a crafting table in a horizontal line. The final result should be exactly 138 paper, matching the number of sugar cane that was started with. From there, divide the paper into three stacks and place them anywhere on the crafting table before doing the same with the 46 leather. The book recipe does not require specific placements, so the resulting 46 books should now be craftable as long as the four separate stacks are present.Step 3: Crafting an Enchanting Table
With the books in hand, it is finally time to craft the enchanting table. This will require one book, two diamonds, and four obsidian. On a crafting table, place three obsidian along the bottom row, one diamond, one obsidian, and one diamond, in that order along the middle row, and a single book directly in the middle of the top row. Enchantments up to the eighth level can now be completed by placing the new enchanting table. However, bookshelves are still required to bump that up to level 30.Step 4: Crafting Bookshelves
All that remains now are the bookshelves that will surround the enchanting table. Opening the crafting table once more, place three planks along the top row, three books along the middle row, and then three more planks along the bottom. Complete this recipe as many times as necessary until every plank and book have been crafted into 15 bookshelves.Step 5: How to Set Up a Level 30 Enchanting Table in Minecraft
The easiest way to set up a level 30 enchanting table is by placing a five-by-five square of bookshelves with your enchanting table at the center and one block open as an entrance. If correctly made, the 15 bookshelves will surround a three-by-three open space with the enchanting table at its center. For a visual reference, please see the screenshot above. We would also like to note that the bookshelves do not have to be set up in a square. As long as there are 15 bookshelves, they can be stacked up to two blocks high and placed anywhere in the five-by-five square surrounding the enchanting table. Regardless of the final placements, the level 30 enchanting table should now be ready for use.Get Started with a
