Technology is ever-changing, and that in no way excludes
gaming. Today, we take a look at Minecraft through the lens of an AI alongside how you too can give it a try in “How to Play Oasis AI Minecraft.”
What is Oasis AI Minecraft?

Decart Oasis is an open-world, real-time, generative AI that creates an unending world and experience as you play. In this case, it has been applied to Minecraft and was trained using millions of gameplay hours, resulting in an almost dream-like version of the game that somehow comes off as both
nostalgic and eerie.
How to Play Oasis AI Minecraft

Oasis AI Minecraft can be played for free on their official website, which can be found
here. However, there is often a wait time to gain access, so be sure to keep an eye on the ETA in the top right corner. Once inside, challenges can be found on the left side of the screen alongside ongoing contests. At the time of writing, a house-building contest with a prize pool of $1800 was ongoing.
As for the challenges, they are often as simple as
killing a zombie or getting shot by a skeleton, but that does not make them easy. In this hazy dream version of Minecraft, everything is always changing, and a glance too far to the right could bring you to somewhere else entirely.
The Future of Interactive AI
When a session ends, players are greeted with a message stating they have seen a glimpse into
the future of interactive AI, which can be both exciting and frightening at the same time. It is easy to forget that around two years ago, AI couldn’t produce anything more than the infamous Will Smith eating spaghetti video, and now we have full movie trailers in high definition. So, where will interactive AI be in a year or two if we already have it in a playable, albeit odd, state?
We can’t say for certain, but based on how rapidly AI continues to develop, we may not be that far from the future the creators of Decart envision.
