Enshrouded: Wizard Build Guide
In this guide, you'll learn of the different elements that can differentiate a weak wizard from a truly powerful mage. These things include the best skills, weapons, and armor to use. Use the information below properly, and you’ll be blasting foes with fire, ice, poison, and meteor spells in no time!Skills
The Wizard line in the Skills tree is your primary source for dealing and increasing magic damage against foes. Note that it’s possible to acquire every skill node in the Wizard line. Players can only gain Skill Points from leveling up to activate these nodes. This skill line also has minor nodes that increase specific attributes permanently. In particular, the Wizard line increases the player’s Intelligence, Spirit, and Constitution. Intelligence increases magic damage by 5% per allotted point. The Spirit attribute increases the player’s maximum mana by 20 per point. Then, Constitution increases maximum health by 50 per attribute point. Major nodes can also be found in the Wizard line, and activating these junctions can help you become the best character with the Wizard build in Enshrouded. These major nodes are the following:- This Is The Way: Magic damage +10%
- Quick Charge: Reduce spell charge time when using staves by 50%
- Arsonist: Fire damage +10%
- Pyromaniac: Fire damage +20%
- Radiant Aura: All Fell enemies within 10 meters take 1 Fire damage per point of Intelligence per second
- Sun Aura: Increase Radiant Aura’s damage to 2 Fire damage per point of Intelligence per second
- Wizard: Magic weapon critical hit chance +10%
- Arcane Deflection: A successful parry grants 20 mana
- Unity: Damaging enemies with wands has a 24% chance of restoring the 2% mana
- Sting: Continuous wand damage +20%
- Wand Master: +30% chance to cast another wand spell
- Blink: Replace dodge command with a short-range teleport
- Emergency Blink: Use Blink when stunned
Weapons
Note that the rarity and level of items in Enshrouded can depend on the location where you get them. For example, you may find a higher-level Scorching Wand when you reach mid- to late-game areas like the Kindlewastes. But some notable staves and wands exist in Embervale that can help you become a master magician. These Wizard weapons include the following:Shroud Weaver
Arguably the best weapon to wield for an Enshrouded Wizard, the Shroud Weaver can only be found in a chest in the Kindlewastes. This endgame staff may appear as a Level 30 weapon, but you might be lucky to find one that's Level 35. Wielding it boosts your Fire damage through the roof, thanks to its perks. Equip it, and the staff grants up to +18 Fire magic damage, +5% critical hit chance, +1 health regeneration, `and +20% backstab damage.Ritual Tempest Wand
If you like using wands over staves, the Ritual Tempest Wand can be an excellent option. Use this wand with spell charges like Chain Lightning, and watch your offensive skills obliterate enemies to kingdom come. This particular endgame wand is also in a chest in the Kindlewastes. Equipping it grants up to +45 Shock magic damage, +20% overcharge, and +1 mana regeneration.Root Staff
Another endgame staff that can rival the Shroud Weaver is the Root Staff. Enemies hit with the spells from this staff will also acquire the Poison debuff, reducing their health over time. Additionally, it grants other bonuses, including a +10% critical hit chance, +9 Poison damage, +1 mana regeneration, and 5% mana leech.Scorching Wand
The Scorching Wand is also in a chest in the Kindlewastes, particularly in the City Ruins region. Use this wand if you want to pummel foes with Fire spells. This magic weapon has a base power of 37 Fire damage and can also increase the Fire damage with an additional 9 points through upgrades. This endgame wand also grants the user +10 Ice magic protection. Plus, it leeches mana up to 10% of the magic damage dealt to enemies.Armor
Like the weapon choices, various armor sets are available for Wizards in Enshrouded to use. Note that there’s nothing wrong with starting with the Apprentice set, which you’ll unlock after summoning the Alchemist. But among the different armor options in Embervale lies the Elder set, which provides excellent physical and magical resistance to the wearer. You can find the armor pieces to the Elder set at the southwest corner of the map, particularly near the Sun Temple. Once you find the chest, place a marker on it and exit the game. Then, load your save file to return to that marked spot. This way, you can farm each piece of the Elder set without the rigorous grind. The best Wizard in Enshrouded can make full use of the Elder armor set, thanks to its perks. Below, you’ll find each piece of this set, along with the stats and perks:- Elder Hat: +28 Physical Resistance, +42 Magical Resistance, +15% Critical Hit Chance, and +12% Critical Hit Damage
- Elder Chestplate: +56 Physical Resistance, +113 Magical Resistance, +96 Mana, and +120 Health
- Elder Gloves: +14 Physical Resistance, +28 Magical Resistance, +9% Magic Damage, and +12% Magic Damage Multiplier
- Elder Trousers: +28 Physical Resistance, +70 Magical Resistance, +36 Mana, and +2 Mana Regeneration
- Elder Boots: +14 Physical Resistance, +28 Magical Resistance, -120 Mana Timeout Reduction, and +4 Mana Regeneration
Spells
Any spell in Enshrouded can deal a decent amount of damage to enemies when cast by the right Wizard. However, some spells gain the upper hand over others, especially the Eternal versions. In particular, some spells have Eternal variants, which are stronger than their base versions. For example, the Ice Bolt spell has an older, more powerful sibling called the Eternal Ice Bolt. Use these Eternal spells whenever possible to destroy your foes’ health bars.Consumables
There’s no shame in using consumables to increase your offensive and defensive capabilities in Enshrouded, especially for a Wizard. After all, the Wizard build typically has one of the weakest defenses in the game. For instance, find and eat Red Mushrooms when starting out as a newbie wizard to increase your Intelligence by 1 point temporarily. Eventually, you can access better food items, such as the Mushroom Omelet (+4 Intelligence for 40 minutes) and the Roasted Azure Russula (+3 Intelligence for 25 minutes). Also, don’t forget to bring Mana Potions. Although mana regenerates over time, you wouldn’t want to be in a situation wherein mana is recharging while enemies surround you.Enshrouded Wizard Build Tips & Tricks
Equipping the best weapon, armor, and spell charges in Enshrouded can only get you so far as a wizard in Embervale. So, here are some tips and tricks to help you make the most of being a mage in Enshrouded:- Shift between staves and wands. You can’t block with staves, but you can equip a shield with a wand to enhance your defenses.
- Cast spells from a vantage point. Many enemies, especially those that deal melee damage, can’t climb or jump. So, cast high-damaging spells with long cast times on high ground to prevent getting hit.
- Run, hide, and fire. Wizards in Enshrouded typically have weak defenses. So, prioritize getting as far away from your enemies as possible while staying within firing range of your spells.
- Activate other skills. Some skills nodes from other builds can be helpful for a wizard. For example, the Terror skill from the Trickster line can stun enemies for 4 seconds when hit by a spell.
