Release Date

Barotrauma Release Date The release date for the Unto the Breach Expansion for Barotrauma is said to be the week after an October 18 update from the game’s developers. However, the update is live as of October 22. This major patch comes after the Blood in the Water Update, which was released on April 4, 2024.

Additions, Changes, & Improvements

Revamped PvP Mode

Barotrauma PVP The upcoming update for Barotrauma features a complete overhaul of the PvP mode, including two new mission types: Outpost Deathmatch and King of the Hull. In Outpost Deathmatch, players must find and kill enemies to reach a kill score, while King of the Hull involves securing and holding a beacon station for points. These updates bring PvP up to par with the rest of the game. The Sub vs. Sub mission in Barotrauma's PvP mode will also see improvements such as allowing teams to choose their sub, displaying enemy sub locations, and smaller maps for more focused combat. New methods of boarding have been added with the update, including boarding pods and harpoon ammunition. Additionally, a perk point system has been added for upgrades, talent points, and items. Finally, stun weapons have been rebalanced for PvP and other game modes.

Alien Ruin & Husk Improvements

Barotrauma Alien Ruins Players will soon discover new visuals and challenges in Barotrauma's alien ruins with added modules and improvements. Prepare for puzzles, traps, and events that enhance exploration. Walls and doors will become tougher to breach, requiring strategic thinking or firepower. The gene system has been rebalanced and improved, offering more uses for genetic materials, especially with the new mysterious material, dementonite. New husk variants, including the Husk Prowler, Husk Chimera, and Exosuit Husk, also bring unique challenges. The Barotrauma Unto the Breach Update also brings bug fixes, and improvements have also been made to husks and other monsters.

New Outpost Modules

Barotrauma New Outpost Modules Thanks to the many suggestions from the game’s community, the Unto the Breach Update introduces 36 new outpost modules. New modules include a bathhouse, nightclub, and storage options. The update also includes new events related to the storage modules. Outposts will now have more variation in layout and size thanks to adjustments in how they are generated, called module probability. Modders can also use this feature when creating custom outposts.

Additional Bug Fixes & Improvements

Barotrauma Bug Fixes Apart from the new content and features, the Barotrauma Unto the Breach Update also includes various fixes and improvements. These enhancements include significant medic AI enhancements, performance optimizations, the ability to load saves from backup slots, fixes for mission equality check errors, and logbook spawn issues in wreck missions. Additionally, adjustments were made to the low pass filter for audio, new components for advanced circuit makers, and the introduction of one-handed riot shields.
