ARK: Survival Evolved Crafting Guide: All Items and Item XP (Vanilla)

Like other actions in ARK: Survival Evolved, crafting can give players XP, and each crafted item has a unique amount of XP attached to it. So what are the best items to craft in ARK: Survival Evolved to gain the most experience? Here, you’ll find all the items you can craft in ARK: Survival Evolved and the XP you earn from crafting them.

How Does Crafting Work in ARK: Survival Evolved?

Crafting is a straightforward mechanic in ARK: Survival Evolved. First, enter your inventory, and you’ll see two menu options here: Craftables and Inventory Items. If you select the former, you’ll see a list of Engrams or the game’s crafting recipes. You must have enough Engram points and the right resources to craft your desired item. Then, select the Engram for the item you want to make, and select “Craft.” A “Craft All” option is also available if you want to create more than one of the same item, provided you have the materials to make multiple copies. You can also select up to five Engrams to craft at any given time. You can craft while being idle, moving, or riding a mount, but you can’t initiate a craft while your character is jumping. Some crafting recipes require you to interact with other objects, such as a Smithy or a Mortar & Pestle, similar to the crafting mechanic of other games. During these crafts you can still move but, your character moves slower than normal.

It's important to mention that players must travel to other maps to acquire specific materials to craft certain items. For example, some resources for taming items are only available on the Extinction map, such as crystals.
