Traders have been revamped with the release of 7 Days to Die 1.0. With this major patch, these merchants have a streamlined approach to providing quests and experience points (XP), albeit at a cost. So, without further ado, here’s what you should need to know about the traders in 7 Days to Die 1.0.
Unlocking Trader Quests in 7 Days to Die 1.0
Before, players could simply walk up to any trader they found upon spawning into the map, regardless of the state of progression. With Update 1.0, one of your first tasks (called “Journey to Settlement") with the new Challenge system is to reach the first trader settlement in the Pine Forest biome. Reaching that location lets you meet the first trader NPC, Rekt. Interact with Rekt to receive the Stone Shovel as the reward for completing this objective. Next, he'll give you an introductory quest wherein you must dig up buried supplies at a specific location. Complete Rekt’s quest to unlock his other objectives, along with other trader quests for 7 Days to Die. Note: Traders in 7 Days to Die 1.0 and their settlements are only open at 4:05 to 21:50.Trader NPC Progression
Completing trader quests in 7 Days to Die 1.0 rewards players with XP, Duke's Casino Tokens (also called Dukes), and Tier Points (TP). Completing a quest tier for a particular trader opens a new trade route, leading you to the next merchant NPC. The order in which you'll meet traders in 7 Days to Die 1.0 is as follows: Rekt -> Jen -> Bob -> Hugh -> Joel. Additionally, here are the general locations for each trader in 7 Days to Die 1.0 to help you in your search for these NPCs:- Jen: Burnt Forest
- Bob: Desert
- Hugh: Snow
- Joel: Wasteland
Tier Points
As mentioned earlier, completing trader quests grant players TP. Each quest tier requires 10 TP to unlock the next tier. Also, completing higher-tier quests grants players better rewards, including more TP. Here’s a quick overview of the TP requirements and rewards for the different trader quest tiers:- Tier 1: Requires 10 TP and gives 1 TP per quest completion
- Tier 2: Requires 20 TP and gives 2 TP per quest completion
- Tier 3: Requires 30 TP and gives 3 TP per quest completion
- Tier 4: Requires 40 TP and gives 4 TP per quest completion
